July Carpinteria Trip

July 12- July 13

It had been a whole year since we had been to Carpinteria and Cody and I were dying to go. We had changed our annual trip to August since we had just taken a week off to go to Turks and Caicos. Mimi, Poppy, Grammy and Grampy had not cancelled their trip so we decided to go up and visit. We were only there for two days and one night but we had so much fun. Cody learned to ride a bike while we were there. He absolutely loved it. He played boccie ball with all the guys, played in the sand, and we even made it into the candy store. We had a great short trip.
The new, old bike that someone left behind.
Poppy had to make a few adjustments first.

Anchors Down

July 5, 2010

We hadn't been out on the boat in awhile so we decided to take the boat down near the pirate ships and throw down the anchor. Todd had brought his paddle board down so he paddled down and we cruised down on the boat. All the kids tried fishing, didn't catch anything though and we BBQ. It was a lot of fun. Cody loved fishing with his cousins. It was a cloudy, cool day but we had a great time none the less.

Fourth of July

July 4, 2010

On Fourth of July our community has a pancake breakfast and parade to start the celebration. It was a lot of fun to parade through the neighborhood with Tyler, Cody and Isla in Mimi and Poppy's decorated wagon. We got a lot of great pictures of the kids. After the parade we went to Mimi and Poppy's house to try out Ty's new motorcycle. The boys loved sitting on it until we turned it on...then they freaked out. We went back to the clubhouse for hot dogs and then home for a nap. We had the Burdi's over that night for hamburgers and them we watched fireworks in the front yard. Cody loved all the fireworks. We were able to see three different shows. It was a fun day.

Getting ready to raise the flag.

Happy Birthday America!

Saluting the flag.

Ready to roll.

And the parade begins...

Cody went right up and introduced himself and
asked if he could get inside.

Cool dude on a motorcycle.

Thanks Ty for letting Cody drive, he loved it.

Happy 4th of July!

Family Trip to Turks and Caicos

June 18- June 26

August 1st was my parents 40th wedding anniversary. They decided that they would like to celebrate with their family, so they planned a trip to Beaches Resort on the Island of Turks and Caicos.

We spent a week eating fabulous food, some of which was caught by Poppy, Kevin, Todd, Ryan and Logan. We played in the pool, the water park, and at the beach, even in the rain. We saw all of the Sesame Street characters and even went to a special breakfast with them. The girls got to spend the morning at the spa. I was just seven weeks pregnant at the time so I couldn't get a massage, so sad, but I got a wonderful facial. The kids had the time of their lives and never once said they were bored. Logan, Madison, and Ashlyn had their fair share of Mickey Mouse Smoothies and ice cream (you can't tell a kid no when it's all inclusive). It was a wonderful time with family. Thanks dad and mom/Lenny and Carol/Poppy and Mimi for all the wonderful memories. Happy 40th anniversary and to many more happy years ahead. We love you.

I made a slide show with some of the pictures, but it is kind of long so here are a few of my favorites if you don't have time to watch it all.

The lazy river...one of the boys favorites.

The water slide, "Yea, mon"....

Hear no evil, speak no evil, see no evil.

My sweet boy.

Daddy's boy.

Logan's fish, way to go!

Mimi and her girls.

Cousins, it was all about the cousins.

My Love!

Cody is Two!

June 8, 2010

It was great that Cody's birthday fell on a Tuesday this year, Kevin's day off. We decided to take Cody to Disneyland. We hadn't been in  a while and he had a great time. He and Kevin rode the rockets, it was Cody's first time and he loved them. We ate dinner at Storybook Cafe. It was pretty good food and they came out singing to him which he really liked. We did a few other rides in California Adventure and headed home. He had a lot of fun. What kid wouldn't want to spend their birthday with Mickey?

Waiting in line for the rockets.

Funny story...I tried to fit in as well but as
you can see I am taking the picture.

Flying high, Cody loved it.

Happy Birthday Buddy!
We love you!

Family Birthday Party

June 6, 2010

We had a fun family party for Cody's birthday. We stuck with the construction theme and used the same plates and decorations. Instead of making cupcakes, like I planned I bought them from Costco. They sure are yummy. Cody loved having everyone at his house for his birthday. He loved all his presents and playing with all of his family. He also loved telling everyone that he was going to be a big brother. I just found out that Thursday right before. I went out and bought a shirt that same day that said "Big Brother". I put it on Cody so that when Kevin got home that afternoon from fishing it was the first thing that he saw. He looked at Cody and then looked at me and then looked at Cody again and then at me and said "Really?". It was so cute. So we decided that Cody's birthday party was almost too perfect of a time to tell all of our family at once. We put the shirt on Cody for the singing of Happy Birthday. Everyone was so surprised. It was a lot of fun. I was only 4 weeks at the time so we asked everyone to keep quiet for a few weeks. All in all it was an awesome day.

I have to get that last one...

Batter Up!

June 2, 2010
For his birthday Cody got an awesome tee ball set. He loves it and is really good at it. Months after receiving it from the McRae Family he still loves playing with it. His favorite is to fake a swing and then the next time he hits it so hard. He is a funny kid.

His daddy teaching him how to swing.

I love the joy on both their faces.

Getting better on his own.

Trying to be fancy and hit it one handed.
