Cody's Almost Two

On a gloomy June 1st we celebrate Cody's second birthday with all his friends. Since Cody is really into construction trucks that was our theme. I was able to find little front loaders, dump trucks and cement mixers to send each of the kids home with. We had a great time. The kids ran in and out of the house playing with toys, playing in the ball pit and laughing. The moms were able to sit and chat. We had pizza, salad, Cheetos, fruit, and cupcakes. It was a lot of fun and Cody just loved having everyone over to play. He also loved all his presents. Thank you all for coming and for the wonderful presents. Here are a few pictures from the fun day.

A Fun Surprise

On Tuesday morning May 25 we had a pleasant surprise. Most people would be annoyed by it but my child was very excited by it. They were tearing up the street in front of our house and there were construction vehicles out front. We went out and sat in the driveway and watched them. We also snapped a few really cute pictures.

Blowing his whistle!

Steam Roller and Back Hoe Loader (Cody's favorites)

Just so cute and so excited!

Cody Caught His First Fish

Ok so I am way behind...but it is my goal to catch up with all that has been going on in our lives. So here we go. This is from May 16: Kevin had a goal for Cody to catch his first fish while he was still one year old. Cody and Kevin accomplished this goal yesterday. We took the boat out yesterday morning with the intent of catching a fish. It was not the calmest of seas, but it wasn't big either. My parents went with us so that my dad could man the boat while Kevin helped Cody. I was in charge of catching it on camera, but of course the battery was dead in the good camera. I did however catch it on video (which won't load) and a few pictures on my phone. It took a while to find the right spot but once we did it all happened pretty fast. Kevin dropped the line of Cody's transformer fishing pole. We had a bite, as Kevin has taught Cody to say "Fresh one!" Cody help Kevin reel it in but the fish were too strong for his pole so Kevin was pulling the line in while Cody was reeling. They came to the surface and he had two Spanish Mackerels on. It was so exciting. Cody had a lot of fun. His excitement really came when we got back to the fuel dock and he could see the fish and give them a kiss. All in all a fun successful trip.

Trash Day

One of Cody's favorite days is trash day. Really what boy doesn't love a loud trash truck?! He thinks it is so great. So every Wednesday he gets excited when he sees that people are putting out their trash cans. He can't wait for his daddy to get home so that he can help take out our trash cans. He does such a good job with helping. He even goes into all the bathrooms and brings out the cans. Last night I got a picture of him helping. He is so cute. He earned a sticker for being such a good helper.

A little blurry but still really cute.

He is so excited to help.

First Swim Lesson

Tuesday was Cody's first official swim lesson. He did well for the most part. He is like most kids I assume, he just wants to play in the water. The instructor, Danielle, wanted him to blow bubbles, kick his legs, and do ice cream scoopers with his arms. He did most of these things, but not when she wanted him to. He was attempting to blow bubbles, but outside the water. We are going to work this week on the bubble thing, I think he drank more water than he left behind. Oh well, all in all he had a good time and I hope that he will do better next week. We need to get him more acquainted with the water because at this point he seems to have no fear of it.

Kicking his feet. Having Fun!

Trying to get him to blow bubbles.

Jumping in! Right at the end and
he is actually whining at me. Still so
cute though.

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

This morning I went into the playroom and found Cody singing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star and playing with his trains. It was so cute that I had to capture it. All that I had was my phone so the quality is not that great but he sure does sound cute. I just love this boy. Click on the title and it will take you to the YouTube video.

Birthday Lunch and First Fishing Trip

A few weeks ago, Saturday, April 24 to be exact, we went for a little cruise on the boat to celebrate Kevin and Nanny Brown's birthdays. We had a great time with Grammy, Grampy, Nanny, Uncle Kyle, and Auntie Rochelle. We took a cruise outside the harbor to see the seals and we ate a great lunch of Del Taco. Cody also was able to use his fishing pole for the first time, but there was no hook attached. He hasn't stopped talking about it since. Kevin has a goal that Cody will catch his first fish before he turns two using his own fishing pole. We will see...he only has a month to accomplish this goal.
